Manufacturer Provided Description
Like her predecessors the M36, M42 and M52, the M29 offers performance sailing that is fun and comfortable. This daysailer is a graceful combination of classic style, the latest in naval architecture and modern boatbuilding materials. Her Morris Yachts quality construction and finish, together with her Sparkman & Stephens design pedigree will guarantee lasting service and value. Designed to be easy to rig, launch, and sail, the M29 is a perfect daysailer for singlehanded sailing or can be raced easily by a crew of two or three. Weight reduction and weight management were top priorities addressed by 100% resin infusion construction, carbon mast and rudder. The elegantly spare accommodations below and the clean deck and functional cockpit have been refined for the work at hand. One-design rules for the racing class emphasize sail purchase limitations, no crew weight restrictions, and a thoroughly strict one-design approach. All control systems have been designed for the lowest loads possible so that not only is she a snappy racer, but all ages and skill levels can enjoy her agile and responsive sailing. Setting and dousing the asymmetrical gennaker has never been easier with the CKL (Cuyler’s Kite Launcher) bow deployment system. With the help of a retrieval line attached to the center of the sail, only one crewmember is needed to deploy and retrieve the sail out of the foredeck hatch from the comfort and safety of the cockpit. As with all M-Series boats the M29 has a self-tacking jib and she is a joy to single-hand on non-race days. One of many hallmarks and joys of buying a boat from Morris Yachts is that your boat is built just for you with your input on how she is finished. But unlike dealers or other builders where the base price often excludes necessary items like carbon fiber mast, sails, bottom paint, exterior/interior varnish, marine toilet, and even name and hail on the transom, Morris Yachts offers all of these items in the base price in a “turn key” standard package. Add whatever features you desire from our options list and transform your M29 into a luxurious daysailer, or simply rely on the experience of the Morris project managers and buy the standard boat perfectly equipped to sail away with no added options needed. Either way, you will quickly know the true cost of your boat and any details surrounding construction with no surprises.
